Semifinalists Announced at Piccolo Violino Magico Competition
The international competition is currently underway until July 7 in San Vito al Tagliamento, Italy
Open to violinists up to age 13 of any nationality, the Piccolo Violino Magico Competition is organized in three rounds and taking place at the Auditorium Comunale in San Vito al Tagliamento.
The jury, with president Pavel Vernikov, includes Sophie Besancon, Anna-Liisa Bezrodny, Nazareno Carusi, Maja Jokanovic, Sunny Lee, and Yuan Tian.
10 young violinists have been chosen as semifinalists of this year's competition. They are:

- Libby Valerie Kojongian, Singapore
- Yunduo Li, China
- Chunxi Liu, China
- Maria Brando Medici, Italy
- Jane Park, South Korea
- Margaryta Pochebut, Ukraine
- Hyunsuk Ryu, South Korea
- Antonio Šaric, Bosnia and Erzegovina
- Baiyi Tao, China
The first prize winner of the Piccolo Violino Magico Competition will receive a scholarship worth €5,000 and a violin made by contemporary Italian luthier Fabio Piagentini, valued at €9,000.
The second prize is worth €3,000, the third prize is €2,000, and the fourth prize is €1,000. This year’s four finalists will also receive a personalized string workshop with Larsen Strings plus one year of string supplies.
For the first two rounds, the competitors will be accompanied by the Accademia d’Archi Arrigoni ensemble. Final round competitors will perform with the FVG Orchestra and Maestro Giancarlo Guarino. The final concert and award ceremony will be held on July 7, 2024.
