VC ‘Young Artist’ Simone Porter To Make Last-Minute Replacement in Cincinnati
It has been announced today that VC ‘Young Artist’ Simone Porter will replace Concertmaster, Timothy Lees in 2 upcoming performances of the Barber Violin Concerto - with conductor Louis Langrée and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.
Timothy was scheduled to perform as soloist, with the ensemble on February 19th and 20th at Cincinnati's Music Hall - yet has been forced to withdraw from the concerts due to a ‘physical stress injury’.
The 19 year old Colburn School of Music student and 2015 Avery Fisher Prize recipient, was also last July invited to replace Hilary Hahn in 3 concerto performances - with conductor Andres Orozco-Estrada and the Houston Symphony Orchestra.
"I am so delighted to have been given this incredible opportunity ... " Simone has told The Violin Channel, " ... I am beyond excited to be collaborating with Maestro Langrée and the amazing Cincinnati Symphony next week - and I wish Timothy Lees the speediest of recoveries..."
