Spanish violin maker and author Ramon Pinto has passed away - aged 89

Spanish violin maker and author Ramon Pinto has passed away - aged 89.

Mr Pinto was a former director of the Casa Parramon stringed instrument workshop, in Barcelona - and served as President of the International Association of Violin and Bow Makers from 2005 and 2007.

Throughout his career he served on the jury of a number of violin making competitions - including the Cremona Triennale and Spain's Concurso Nacional José Contreras in Gelves.
