The Detroit Symphony has Granted Tenure to Concertmaster Robyn Bollinger

Bollinger was first appointed in July 2022

Violinist Robyn Bollinger, who was appointed Concertmaster of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) in July 2022, has been granted tenure in the position. Bollinger originally won the post following a successful audition and a two-week trial — and has continued to impress in the role since that time.

A sought-after artist, Bollinger has been performing with orchestras across the United States since she made her debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra aged twelve. In 2019, she gave the world premiere of Artifacts, a four-movement violin concerto by Katherine Balch that was commissioned by the California Symphony.

Bollinger has frequently appeared as Guest Concertmaster with the Pittsburgh Symphony, the Indianapolis Symphony, and the St. Bart’s Music Festival Orchestra. She is a former member of the Boston-based, democratically run chamber orchestra A Far Cry.
