American pianist Gabriel D’Abruzzo has drowned in a tragic swimming accident off the shore of New Jersey – aged 42

It has been reported today that American pianist Gabriel D’Abruzzo has drowned in a tragic swimming accident off the shore of New Jersey, in the United States – aged 42.

A student of Vladimir Feltsman, Gabriel served as an official accompanist with the Pittsburgh Bach Choir - and held an adjunct professorship at Saint Vincent College.

Our condolences are with Gabriel's family, friends, colleagues and students.
