Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross Win Best Original Score at the 2025 Golden Globe
The award was given for their work on the tennis-focused romance movie, "Challengers"
Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross won their third Golden Globe at this year's ceremony. Released by Sony Music Masterworks’ Milan Records, the pair won for their work on the Challengers score, which fused electronic dance music with classical music.
The duo previously won in the same category for The Social Network in 2011 and Soul in 2021 — the latter is shared with Jon Batiste. Reznor and Ross are members of the rock band Nine Inch Nails.
Elton John co-presented the award alongside Brandi Carlile. The award show was hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser and held at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, California.
Ross gave the acceptance speech with, “This really means a lot, particularly in this special moment. First I’d like to thank my best friend, my musical partner, the great Trent Reznor. The music never felt like a safe choice, but it always felt like the right one. I’d like to thank the maestro, the visionary director, our friend Luca Guadagnino.… To be honest, we always thought we’d get the call ‘Can you just turn it down a little?’ But it never came, and here we are.”
