VC Artist Kian Soltani has in recent years firmly established an international reputation as one of the new generation's most prodigious young concert artists

27-year-old Persian-Austrian cello virtuoso Kian Soltani has in recent years firmly established an international reputation as one of the new generation's most prodigious young concert artists - praised for his technical mastery and profound, mature conviction.

A graduate of the City of Basel Music Academy and the Kronberg Academy, where he studied with Ivan Monighetti and Frans Helmerson, Kian is a former 1st prize winner at the Antonio Janigro, Karl Davidof and Paulo International Cello Competitions.

Highlights of his 2019-2020 season included performances with the Munich Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Filarmonica della Scala, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Hallé, KBS Symphony and Orchestra of the National Centre for the Performing Arts Beijing - and he was recently a featured soloist with the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, performing Strauss' Don Quixote - under the direction of conductor Daniel Barenboim.

He currently performs on 'The London ex Boccherini' Antonio Stradivari cello - on generous loan from the Beares International Violin Society.
