VC LIVE | ARD Competition 2023 Double Bass Final Round

We're coming to you live from Munich for the Double Bass Final Round of the 2023 ARD International Music Competition Munich.

In the Double Bass competition, finalists José Trigo (Portugal), Hongyiu Thomas Lai (Hong Kong), and Gabriel Polinsky (USA) will perform with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks and conductor Andrew Grams.

The jury for the Double Bass Competition is Timothy Cobb (Chairperson), Heinrich Braun, Michinori Bunya, Christine Hoock, Goran Kostic, Daniele Roccato, and Sandrine Vautrin.

Hosted annually since 1952 and widely regarded as one of classical music's most prestigious accolades, the ARD Prizes have springboarded the careers of notable winners including Jesse Norman, Christoph Eschenbach, Nobuko Imai, Mitsuko Uchida, Yuri Bashmet, Christian Tetzlaff and VC Artists Diyang Mei, Sarah Christian and Bomsori Kim.
