VC LIVE | ARD Competition 2023 Viola Final Round

We're coming to you live from Munich for the Viola Final Round of the 2023 ARD International Music Competition Munich.

The viola finalists Takehiro Konoe, Diyang Mei, and Yucheng Shi will perform with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks and conductor Andrew Grams.

The jury for the viola competition is Lars Anders Tomter (Chairperson), Steven Ansell, Tatjana Masurenko, Jutta Puchhammer-Sédillot, Naoko Shimizu, Edward Vanderspar, and Wen Xiao Zheng.

Hosted annually since 1952 and widely regarded as one of classical music's most prestigious accolades, the ARD Prizes have springboarded the careers of notable winners including Jesse Norman, Christoph Eschenbach, Nobuko Imai, Mitsuko Uchida, Yuri Bashmet, Christian Tetzlaff and VC Artists Diyang Mei, Sarah Christian and Bomsori Kim.
