Tune in from August 22 to September 1 to watch young violinists compete in three age categories

We're coming to you from Baden-Württemberg, Germany for the 20th edition of the Kloster Schöntal International Violin Competition. Supported by the Hohenlohe Cultural Foundation, this year’s edition will be held from August 22 to September 1, 2024, at the Schöntal Monastery.

First held in 1989, the biennial event aims to discover and promote young emerging artists, and to offer them the chance to create international networks. In total, cash and non-cash prizes of over €30,000 will be distributed. Larsen Strings will be sponsoring strings for 25 finalists, and GEWA will offer a violin case to each first prize winners.

There are three age groups: up to 15 years, up to 18 years, up to 21 years. You can learn more about the candidates, here.

The 2024 jury includes Paul Roczek (President), Rebekka Hartmann, Skerdjano Keraj, Florian Leonhard, Viorica Radoi, Baiba Skride, Yamei Yu, and Cem Esen (Guest jury member for the compulsory contemporary work in age group 3).
