Based in Brussels, the Carousel Ensemble was founded in 2019 by clarinetist Annelien Van Wauwe and gathers twelve musicians from six European countries. The ensemble made its debut in Antwerp, Brussels, and has since then regularly performed in halls such as the Concertgebouw Bruges, Lunalia Mechelen, Bagno Konzertgalerie Steinfurt, and more.
Supporting young musicians, the ensemble organizes the international CAROUSEL Masterclasses in Kortrijk, Belgium every summer.
The Carousel Ensemble's programs vary from trio to octet and present broad repertoire aimed to break down cultural barriers. Their Wigmore Hall debut will present ensemble members Annelien Van Wauwe (clarinet), Agnès Clément (harp), Jill Jeschek (flute), Alexandra Soumm (violin), Samuel Nemtanu (violin), Mihai Cocea (viola), and Louis Rodde (cello).
