American violinist and pedagogue Alice Joy Lewis has passed away - aged 77

American violinist and pedagogue Alice Joy Lewis has passed away - aged 77.

A graduate of Kansas University and a former private student of Dr Shinichi Suzuki at the Talent Education Institute, Ms Lewis will be remembered for having trained over 1000 teachers in the Suzuki School of Violin method.

She was a recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award from the Suzuki Association of Americas - as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award and Suzuki Chair Award.
