24-year-old Coraline Groen has been awarded 1st prize at the Netherlands Violin Competition – in Utrecht, Netherlands
24-year-old Coraline Groen from the Netherlands has this week been awarded 1st prize in the 18-26-year-old Senior age category at the Netherlands Violin Competition – in Utrecht, Netherlands.
A graduate of the Hague Royal Conservatoire and Royal Academy of Music, and current section violinist with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Coraline is a former top prize winner at the Britten International Violin Competition.
2nd and 3rd prizes were awarded to 19-year-old Charlotte Spruit - and 20-year-old Leon Blekh.
17-year-old Kaya Gür was awarded 1st prize in the 14-17 year-old Junior age category.
2nd and 3rd prizes were awarded to 15-year-old Mara Mostert - and 15-year-old Anna Schultsz.
The Senior age category jury comprised: Roland Kieft (Chairman) Cécile Huijnen, Rudolf Koelman, Eeva Koskinen, Joris van Rijn, Henk Rubingh, Ilona Sie Dhian Ho, Patty Hamel, Bart Oomen, Aldo de Vos, Femke Bun, Jaap van Hamond, Lotte Lepoutre, Alessandra Sanchez, Sjef van der Heijden and Dorien de Gier.
The Junior age category jury comprised: Richard Wolfe, Vera Beths, Adelina Hasani, Carla Leurs, Mikhail Zemtsov and Martijn Munk.
