The Israel Philharmonic has announced the appointment of 27-year-old Moldavian-born violinist Dumitru Pocitari as its new Concertmaster
The Israel Philharmonic, in Tel Aviv, Israel, has today announced the appointment of 27-year-old Moldavian-born violinist Dumitru Pocitari as its new Concertmaster - effective immediately.
A graduate of the Tel Aviv University, where he studied with Ilya Konovalov and former student of Julian Rachlin at the Vienna Conservatory, Dumitru has served as a member of the ensemble’s 1st violin section since 2014.
He will share the leadership role with current Concertmasters David Radzynski and Ilya Konovalov.
