Glossa Records has announced the release of Swiss violinist Leila Schayegh's new album: 'Johannes Brahms Violin Sonatas'.

Recorded with pianist Jan Schultsz, the disc features Brahms' Violin Sonata No. 1 in G Major, Violin Sonata No. 2 in A Major, Violin Sonata No. 3 in D minor - and F-A-E Violin Sonata in C Minor.

''In my deep heart, I have always been a very romantic soul ... and after years of concentration on earlier repertoire I really felt the urge to go on and explore new things ... " Leila has told The Violin Channel.

"My goal was to try and discover Brahms in a completely new light and to get a little out of the comfort zone ... I wanted to really try to capture the atmosphere of life, emotions and musical understanding ..." she has said.

"I hope listeners will get transported to another time ... but in the end it's not important what we did and why ... but to just listen and let it sink in."
