It has been announced today that violinist Neil Amin-Smith has left the British-based electric-pop-classical band Clean Bandit - effective immediately.
Formed in Cambridge in 2009, the 4 piece ensemble’s 2014 hit ‘Rather Be’ shot to Number 1 on the UK Singles Charts - and was awarded a 2015 Grammy Award for ‘Best Dance Recording’.

“It took a long time to reach the decision but it’s the right one…’ the 28 year old has said on twitter.
"I have learned so much and seen so many things and it will all stay with me forever ...” he has said.
Neil did not thank his band mates in his exit statement.
