Delos Productions has today announced the release of South African violinist Piet Koornhof's new album: Frolov & Friends.

Recorded with pianist Albie van Schalkwyk, the disc features the fun, jazzy and bluesy violin works of Russian composer Igor Frolov (1937-2013) ... plus arrangement's of his friends ...  George Gershwin, Juan Almeida Bosque, Jorge Anckermann and Rodrigo Prats.

"I hope listeners will enjoy a fresh discovery of music by a violinist-composer, in the tradition of Wieniawski and Kreisler ... that is straight from the heart ... sometimes with a twinkle, sometimes with a tear ... and often with a touch of jazz," Piet has told The Violin Channel.
