Virginia Symphony Furloughs its Musicians

The Virginia Symphony Orchestra this week announced it is furloughing its musicians due to the cancellation of the ensemble’s fall season

It is expected that performers will return to work on February 9th, 2021.

“We are putting in place a plan that we can support financially and has a high probability of success, rather than continuing what we did in spring, which was kind of lurching from one idea to the next, not having any clarity on the future,” said Orchestra President, Karen Philion.
