Yan Pascal Tortelier Announced New Chief Conductor of Iceland Symphony
The Iceland Symphony Orchestra has today announced the appointment of French conductor, Yan Pascal Tortelier as their new Chief Conductor - effective September 2016.

“I am delighted and moved to be asked to become the Chief Conductor of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra …” the 68 year old has said, “ ... I enjoy a really good chemistry with the players and, of course, the new hall is a spectacular plus.’
Tortelier, currently in addition serves Principal Positions with the BBC Philharmonic, Sao Paulo Symphony and London’s Royal Academy of Music.
