The category Finalists have today been announced at the 2019 Ysaÿe International Violin Competition – in Liège, Belgium.

The 17-year-old and under category Finalists are:

  • Varvara Vasylieva (Ukraine)
  • Lir Vaginsky (Germany)
  • Stefan Burchardt (Denmark)
  • Matvey Blumin (Russia)
  • Darwin Chang (Taiwan)

The 18 to 33-year-old category Finalists are:

  • VC Young Artist Anne Luisa Kramb (Germany)
  • Hiromi Fukuda (Japan)
  • Rimma Benyumova (Russia)
  • Alexander Kuznetsov (Russia)
  • Cesar Laporev (Belgium)
  • Feliks Harutyunyan (Armenia)
  • Galiya Zharova (Kazakhstan)
  • Yumiba Yumiko (Japan)

Open to international violinists 33 years and younger, the Senior 1st prize winner will receive €3000 – plus a French bow, valued at €4000.

The 2019 jury comprises: Philippe Koch (President), Andrey Baranov, Philippe Lehaen, George Tudorache, Hrachya Avanesyan, Mikhail Yakovlev, Jean-Marc Onkelinx, Robert Stephanian and Ashot Khachatourian.
