The category Finalists have today been announced at the 2019 Ysaÿe International Violin Competition – in Liège, Belgium.
The 17-year-old and under category Finalists are:
- Varvara Vasylieva (Ukraine)
- Lir Vaginsky (Germany)
- Stefan Burchardt (Denmark)
- Matvey Blumin (Russia)
- Darwin Chang (Taiwan)
The 18 to 33-year-old category Finalists are:
- VC Young Artist Anne Luisa Kramb (Germany)
- Hiromi Fukuda (Japan)
- Rimma Benyumova (Russia)
- Alexander Kuznetsov (Russia)
- Cesar Laporev (Belgium)
- Feliks Harutyunyan (Armenia)
- Galiya Zharova (Kazakhstan)
- Yumiba Yumiko (Japan)
Open to international violinists 33 years and younger, the Senior 1st prize winner will receive €3000 - plus a French bow, valued at €4000.
The 2019 jury comprises: Philippe Koch (President), Andrey Baranov, Philippe Lehaen, George Tudorache, Hrachya Avanesyan, Mikhail Yakovlev, Jean-Marc Onkelinx, Robert Stephanian and Ashot Khachatourian.
