BREAKING | Prizes Awarded at China’s Zhuhai Mozart Junior & Intermediate Violin Comps

The junior and intermediate category age prize winners at the 2019 Zhuhai International Mozart Competition for Young Musicians have been announced

12-year-old Jinan Woo from South Korea has today been awarded 1st prize in the 12 Years and Under Category at the 2019 Zhuhai International Mozart Competition for Young Musicians – in Zhuhai, China.

1st prize in the 13 to 16 Year Old Age Category was awarded to 14-year-old Lina Nakano from Japan.

LINDA NAKANO | PAGANINI VIOLIN CONCERTO NO. 1 IN D MAJOR | 1ST MVT | 2019 ZHUHAI INTERNATIONAL MOZART COMPETITION FOR YOUNG MUSICIANS | 13 TO 16 YEARS OLD AGE CATEGORY 1ST PRIZE WINNER

 

2nd, 3rd and 4th prizes in the 12 Years and Under Age Category were awarded to 10-year-old Shaoheng Zhong from China, 11-year-old Zhang Aozhe from China - and 11-year-old Junyang Zhu from China.

2nd and 3rd prizes in the 13 to 16 Year Old Age Category was awarded to 15-year-old Wong Pui Ying from Hong Kong/China - and 13-year-old Wu Muyang from China.     

The Senior 17 to 23 Year Old Age Category prize winners will be announced on the 21st of September.

The 2019 violin jury comprises: Paul Roczek (Artistic Director), Julius Berger (Chairman), Lewis Kaplan, Boris Kuschnir, Michael Ma, Silvia Marcovici, Qian Zhou and Weidong Tong.

The Violin Channel, as the competition’s official media partner, will be providing streaming coverage direct from Zhuhai.
