Tokyo's Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Announces Next Principal Conductor

The Yomiuri Nippon Symphony has announced the appointment of German conductor Sebastian Weigle as its new principal conductor

The Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo, Japan, has today announced the appointment of 57-year-old German conductor Sebastian Weigle as its new principal conductor - effective from April 2019.

A graduate of Berlin's 'Hanns Eisler' University of Music and former principal hornist with the Berlin State Opera, he has served as Music Director of the Frankfurt Opera since 2008.

Maestro Weigle will replace conductor Sylvain Cambreling - who has led the ensemble since 2010.
