Greek-born composer and conductor Theódoros Andoníou has passed away in Athens - aged 83

Greek-born composer and conductor Theódoros Andoníou has passed away in Athens - aged 83.

Professor Andonious served long term teaching positions on faculty at Stanford University, the University of Utah, the Philadelphia Musical Academy and Boston University

A strong advocate of new music, he founded a number of contemporary music ensembles including ALEA II at Stanford University, ALEA III at Boston University, the Philadelphia New Music Group - and the Hellenic Group of Contemporary Music.

Our condolences are with his family, friends, colleagues and students.
