Based in Arizona, The Phoenix Symphony (TPS) is looking for a visionary, strategic, and innovative President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead them in one of the fastest-growing cities in America.
Joining an impressive team of staff and musicians, the CEO will ensure that TPS is a destination orchestra for top talent in all areas and will lead the Phoenix arts and non-profit communities. To succeed outgoing CEO, Suzanne Wilson, who is relocating to London, the next CEO will be part of introducing new revenue streams and build on the recent philanthropic success to secure financial standing.
Founded in 1947 as a part-time orchestra, TPS was full-time by 1983 and is now Arizona’s largest performing arts organization, and with the leadership of Tito Muñoz, Virginia G. Piper Music Director, it continues to receive world-wide recognition. Its guest artists have included Midori, Yo-Yo Ma, Sarah Chang, and Gil Shaham, plus pop artists Idina Menzel, Leslie Odom, Jr., and Renée Elise Goldsberry.
TPS also runs the Phoenix Symphony Learning Institute which involves programs reaching over 125,000 students and families each year, including school-based concerts and a professional development model to train teachers and Symphony musicians to teach and assess STEM concepts through music.
