The music department of the University of Chicago is a renowned center for research and teaching in the areas of Music Composition, Ethnomusicology, Music History, and Music Theory. Comprising staff who are leading experts in their fields, the department also sponsors a co-curricular Performance Program that involves over 750 musicians in over 100 concerts each season.
The Artistic Operations Manager works closely with the director of Performance Programs (PP), facilitating ongoing operations, strategic expansion, and future PP initiatives. The selected candidate will also provide operational support for the Chicago Center for Contemporary Composition and other projects, as needed. Salary will be paid monthly for a work schedule of 37.5 hours a week.
It is preferred that candidates have a Bachelor’s degree (preferably in music) or Master’s degree, plus a minimum of five years experience working for a not-for-profit musical organization, or within a music sector in a college or university. The role’s minimum qualifications are a college or university degree in a related field and two to five years of work experience in a related job discipline.
