Applications are now open for the 2018 ARD International Music Competition - to be held in Munich, Germany from the 3rd to the 21st of September, 2018
Applications are now open for the 2018 ARD International Music Competition - to be held in Munich, Germany from the 3rd to the 21st of September, 2018.
The 2018 competition will be hosted in 4 categories - viola, piano trio, trumpet and voice.
Open to young international musicians, aged 17 to 35, who are ready to launch an international career, each category winner will receive €10,000 - and a number of important debut concert and recording invitations.
Full streaming of the viola and piano trio competitions will be available live and exclusively on The Violin Channel.

The 2018 viola competition jury will comprise: Vladimir Bukač, Nicholas Cords, Nobuko Imai, Garth Knox, Thomas Riebl, Maxim Rysanov and Geraldine Walther.
The 2018 piano trio competition jury will comprise: Vincent Coq, Jens Elvekjær, Amiram All, Stefan Mendl, Sølve Sigerland, Tanja Tetzlaff and Quirine Viersen.
Previous ARD competition prize winners include: Christian Tetzlaff, Jessye Norman, Natalia Gutman, Christoph Eschenbach, Mitsuko Uchida, Yuri Bashmet, Igor Ozim, Dora Schwarzberg – and VC Artists Bomsori Kim and Sarah Christian.
Applications to be received by the 31st of March, 2018.
