AUDITION | Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra — Tutti Rotating Violin
Applications for the New Zealand-based ensemble are due on August 14, 2022
The Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra (APO), which is based in Auckland, New Zealand, is recruiting for two tutti rotating violinists. The successful applicants will move between the First and Second Violin sections as directed, getting to experience both types of playing.
The APO is New Zealand’s full-time professional metropolitan orchestra, serving the country’s largest and most vibrant city with a comprehensive program of concerts and outreach activities. They give more than 70 mainstage performances annually, as well as working alongside New Zealand Opera, the Royal New Zealand Ballet, the Auckland Arts Festival, and the Michael Hill International Violin Competition. The orchestra's current Music Director is Giordano Bellincampi.
The position offers a salary of NZD $66,215 per annum, as well as contributions to retirement savings.
Candidates may audition live in Auckland, or send a pre-recorded audition.
Applications must be received by Sunday 14 August NZT (GMT+12), with recordings to be sent in by Sunday 28 August. In-person auditions will be conducted on Sunday 5 September, and the position has a start date of February 2023.
