AUDITION | Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal — First and Second Violin
Applications for the Canadian ensemble close on August 19, 2022
Canada's Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal (OSM) is holding auditions for four positions in the First Violin section, as well as one position in the Second Violin section.
The OSM has been playing for the local Quebec community since 1934, and has been led by a range of prominent conductors, including Zubin Mehta and Franz-Paul Decker. Its current Music Director is Rafael Payare.
The audition repertoire includes one movement of a solo sonata (not partita) by J. S. Bach, the exposition of a classical concerto (no cadenza), and the exposition of a Romantic concerto (no cadenza), as well as orchestral excerpts.
The preliminary rounds will take place on October 1, 2, and 3, with the subsequent rounds to follow on Monday, 12 December 2022.
All applications should be received by August 19, 2022.
