Semi-Finalists Announced for Australia's Kendall National Violin Competition
The 8 Semi-Finalists have been announced for the 2018 Kendall National Violin Competition - in Sydney, Australia
The 8 Semi-Finalists have been announced for the 2018 Kendall National Violin Competition - to be held at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, in Australia on the 5th of August.
Regarded as one of Australia’s most important domestic development prizes for violinists 23 years and younger, the 1st prize winner will receive AUD $4,000, a violin crafted by Polish-Australian luthier, Michal Prokop – plus a number of domestic concert engagements.
The 2018 Semi-Finalists are:

- Karla Hanna (Melbourne)
- Olivia Kowalik (Sydney)
- Gemma Lee (Sydney)
- Emily Su (Sydney)
- Johnny van Gend (Melbourne)
- Dandan Wang (Melbourne)
- Dindin Wang (Melbourne)
The first round jury comprised: Marianne Broadfoot (2002 winner), Katherine Lukey (2004 winner), Jonathan Mui (2007 winner), Liisa Pallandi (2010 winner), Anna da Silva Chen (2011 winner), James Dong (2012 winner) and Yejin Min (2014 winner).
Previous winners include: VC Artist Ray Chen.
