6 Semi Finalists Announced at Australian 'Young Performer of the Year' Awards

The 6 semi finalists have been announced at the 2014 Australian 'Young Performer of the Year' Awards, in Adelaide, Australia – including VC 'Rising Star', 15 year old violinist Grace Clifford.

This year's semi finalists are: 15 year old violinist Grace Clifford, 23 year old violinist Anne-Marie Johnson, 18 year old violinist Anna Da Silva Chen, 21 year old violinist Zoe Freisberg, 15 year old oboist Andrew Kawai and 20 year old pianist Michael Li.

Regarded as Australia’s most important classical music prize for instrumentalists 30 years and younger, previous winners include international string soloists: Adele Anthony, Li-Wei Qin, Ji Won Kim and VC ‘Young Artist’ Suyeon Kang.

The 3 stage final will take place in Adelaide from August 19th to 28th – with the ‘Australian Young Performer of the Year’ to receive AUD $25,000, a CD recording and a number of important solo engagements.
