VC ‘Young Artists’ Sweep 1 & 2 at Montreal Violin Competition
18 year old VC ‘Young Artist’ Ayana Tsuji has been awarded 1st prize at the 2016 Montreal International Violin Competition
18 year old VC ‘Young Artist’ Ayana Tsuji, from Japan has just minutes ago been awarded 1st prize at the 2016 Montreal International Violin Competition, in Montreal, Canada.
2nd and 3rd prizes were awarded to: 26 year old VC ‘Young Artist’ Bomsori Kim from South Korea - and 17 year old Minami Yoshida, from Japan.
A student of Koichiro Harada, at the Toho Gakuen School of Music, Ayana is a former major prize winner at the Seoul, Hannover and Munetsugu Angel International Violin Competitions.
She will received $30,000 CAD (US $23,000).

The $5,000 Radio-Canada ‘Audience Prize’ was awarded to VC ‘Young Artist’ Bomsori Kim.
The $4,000 ‘Andre-Bachand Prize for the Best Semi-Final Performance of the Compulsory Canadian Work’ was awarded to VC ‘Young Artist’ Ayana Tsuji.
The $2,500 prize for the ‘Best Semi-Final Recital’ was awarded to VC ‘Young Artist’ Ayana Tsuji.
The $2,000 prize for the ‘Best Performance of a Sonata in the Semi-Final Round' was awarded to VC ‘Young Artist’ Ayana Tsuji.
The $1,000 prize for the ‘Best Performance of a work by J.S. Bach’ in the Quarter-Final round was awarded to VC ‘Young Artist’ Ayana Tsuji.
The $1,000 prize for the ‘Best Performance of a Paganini Caprice’ in the Quarter-Final round was awarded to VC ‘Young Artist’ Ayana Tsuji.
$2000 CMIM grants will also be awarded to finalists: VC 'Young Artist' Fedor Rudin, Petteri Iivonen and Ji Won Song.

Previous major prize winners include VC ‘Artists’ Benjamin Beilman, Nikita Borioso-Glebsky, Stephen Waarts and Zeyu Victor Li.
