Germany's Beethoven Orchestra Renews Music Director to 2027

The Beethoven Orchestra, in Bonn, Germany, announced the extension of General Music Director Dirk Kaftan’s contract, through to 2027

The Beethoven Orchestra, in Bonn, Germany, announced the extension of General Music Director Dirk Kaftan’s contract, through to 2027.

The 49-year-old German conductor previously served as the chief conductor of the Graz Opera and the Augsburg Philharmonic Orchestra.

"With Dirk Kaftan at the helm, the Beethoven Orchestra has developed further and continues to delight music fans. With him, we have been able to win an artistic director who likes to try new things, but who always offers the highest musical quality," Mayor of Bonn, Ashok Sridharan said.

"Thanks to the expressed trust, we can now continue projects that have already started and make further dreams come true in the long term," Kaftan said.
