Canadian-American musical theatre composer and pianist Galt MacDermot has passed away - aged 89.

He will be remembered in history as the score composer of the international cultural phenomenon Broadway musical, Hair.

The score won multiple awards and spawned multiple hit singles - including Age of Aquarius, Let the Sunshine In and Good Morning Starshine.

His other acclaimed works include the scores to African Waltz and Two Gentlemen of Verona.
