Sony Classical has announced the release of celebrated Argentine cellist Sol Gabetta's new album: Schumann.

Recorded with pianist Bertrand Chamayou, conductor Giovanni Antonini and the Basel Chamber Orchestra, the all-Schumann disc features Five Pieces in the Folk Style Op. 102, Adagio and Allegro Op. 70 and Fantasy Pieces Op. 73 - plus his Cello Concerto in A Minor.

'My idea for this disc was to include all the complete works that Schumann wrote for my instrument on the one disc ... " Sol has told The Violin Channel.

"I have had a long relationship with Maestro Giovanni Antonini and the Kammerorchester Basel and we had performed Schumann's magnificent Cello Concerto many times over the past six years ... so it felt like a natural time to finally record the results of our long working process," she has said.
