Ondine Records has this month announced the release of German violin virtuoso Christian Tetzlaff's new album: Bartok: Violin Concertos Nos. 1 & 2.

Recorded with Finnish conductor Hannu Lintu and the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the disc features Béla Bartók‘s 1st and 2nd Violin Concertos.

"When I first discovered Béla Bartók's first concerto it was an absolute revelation for me ..." Christian has told The Violin Channel.

"He had written the work in around 1907-1908 and dedicated it to violinist Stefi Geyer, who he was madly in love with ... and very audibly so ..." he has said.

"When you listen to the 1st concerto coupled with the much better known 2nd concerto, composed later in 1937-1938, you get a compete picture ... of this incredible composer and human being."
