The Cleveland Orchestra has today announced the appointment 29 year old Vinay Parameswaran as their new Assistant Conductor
The Cleveland Orchestra has today announced the appointment 29 year old Vinay Parameswaran as their new Assistant Conductor.
A graduate of Brown University and the Curtis Institute of Music, Vinay currently serves as Associate Conductor of the Nashville Symphony.
“Vinay offers the kind of excellence, musical understanding, enthusiasm, and collaborative spirit that exemplifies the Cleveland Orchestra as an institution …” Orchestra Artistic Officer Mark Williams has said.
"His commitment to young people and fostering their interest in music is exceptional,” he has said.
Vinay will replace conductor Brett Mitchell - who will step down from the role to take up his newly appointed position as Music Director of the Colorado Symphony.
As part of his responsibility, Vinay will also serve as Music Director of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra.
