German conductor Enoch zu Guttenberg has passed away following a brief illness – aged 71

German conductor Enoch zu Guttenberg has passed away following a brief illness – aged 71.

He served as Principal Conductor of the Munich KlangVerwaltung ensemble - and in 1999 founded the Festspiele Herrenchiemsee summer music festival.

Throughout his career he performed as a guest conductor with a number of prominent international orchestras - including the Berlin State Opera and the Bamberg Symphony.

Our condolences are with Maestro Guttenberg's family, friends, colleagues and students.
