Prizes Awarded at Henri Marteau International Violin Competition
23 year old Lorenz Chen from Taiwan-Germany has been awarded 1st prize at the 2017 Henri Marteau International Violin Competition, in Hof, Germany
23 year old Lorenz Chen from Taiwan-Germany has been awarded 1st prize at the 2017 Henri Marteau International Violin Competition, in Hof, Germany.
A student of Ana Chumachenco at the Munich Conservatory, Lorenz is a former major prize winner at the Lipizer International Violin Competition.
He will receive 10,000 Euro.
2nd and 3rd prizes were awarded to 21 year old Yukino Nakamura from Japan and 24 year old Stephan Starikov from Russia.
Lorenz was in addition awarded this year’s Audience prize
This year’s jury comprised: Gilbert Varga (Jury Chair), Kurt Sassmannshaus, Igor Ozim, Ingolf Turban, Silvia Marcovici, Michael Frischenschlager, Albena Danailova, Ilya Kaler, Erika Geldsetzer and Nam Yun Kim.
