Hilary Hahn Awarded Coveted $34,000 Dresden Festival Bursary

American violinist Hilary Hahn has been announced as the recipient of the €25,000 (US $34,000) 2014 Dresden Music Festival Prize.

The 32 year old virtuoso was praised by the organising committee for her authentic and contemporary musical language, teaching work - and effective and innovative use of social media for connecting with younger classical music fans.

Previous recipients include Gidon Kremer and Sir Simon Rattle.

The accolade will be presented at a concert at the Dresden Semperoper on June 4th.
