Itzhak Perlman to Leave Mega-Agency IMG Artists for New Boutique Start-Up
It has been announced that violin virtuoso Itzhak Perlman has left his long-time management agency, IMG Artists, after nearly 30 years of representation, to join the roster of newly-formed New York-based boutique management agency, Primo Artists.
Founded by industry veteran, former IMG Senior Vice President, Charlotte Lee, Primo Artists’ roster will also include violinists Nicola Benedetti (North/South American Management) and Arnaud Sussmann (General Management) and conductor Cristian Macelaru (North/South American Management).
Charlotte Lee, 38 brings all four artists with her from IMG, where she worked for nearly 17 years in overseeing the bookings of IMG's entire North American orchestral roster of nearly 100 conductors, instrumentalists and symphony pop shows – and previously as a part of IMG's exclusive management teams representing violinists Joshua Bell and Hilary Hahn, pianists Lang Lang and Evgeny Kissin, and conductors Franz Welser-Most and Ivan Fischer.
“Primo Artists is committed to enabling our artists to excel with distinction by maximising opportunities while working to each artist’s individual and key strengths. We have a personalized approach with our artists and presenters and unparalleled working relationships in the field...” Charlotte has told The Violin Channel, “... with our selective roster of some of the world's finest classical artists, from rising stars to household names, and our ideals of exceptional service, strategic vision and expertise, we have established Primo Artists to become one of the leading artist management agencies in North America.”
