The Staatskapelle Berlin has announced the appointment of 26 year old Chinese violinist Lifan Zhu as their new Associate Principal Second Violin
The Staatskapelle Berlin has today announced the appointment of 26 year old Chinese violinist Lifan Zhu as their new Associate Principal Second Violin.
A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and The Juilliard School, where she studied with Aaron Rosand and Lewis Kaplan, and current post-graduate student of Kolja Blacher at Berlin’s Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler”, Lifan is a former prize winner at the Seoul, Postacchini and Bucharest International Violin Competitions.
She has previously performed tutti positions with both the Gewandhausorchester, Leipzig and the Staatskapelle Berlin.
