The 24 candidates have been announced for the 2019 Markneukirchen International Cello Competition
The 24 candidates have been announced for the 2019 Markneukirchen International Cello Competition – to be held in Markneukirchen, Germany from the 9th to the 18th of May, 2019.
The 24 opening round candidates are:

- Chase Park (United States)
- Theresa Schneider (Germany)

Open to international cellists aged 30 years and younger, the 1st prize winner will receive €7,000 - plus a number of important performance opportunities.
The 2019 jury will comprise: Maria Kliegel (Chair), Yi-Bing Chu, Danjulo Ishizaka, Zdzisław Łapiński, Csaba Onczay, and Marko Ylönen.
