The 7 Semi-Finalists have been announced for the 2019 Markneukirchen International Cello Competition

The 7 Semi-Finalists have today been announced for the 2019 Markneukirchen International Cello Competition – in Markneukirchen, Germany.

The 2019 Semi-Finalists are:

Balázs Dolfin (Hungary)
Jeremias Fliedl (Austria)
YeongKwang Lee (South Korea)
Anton Spronk (Netherlands)
Daniel Thorell (Sweden)
Beata Antikainen (Finland)
Friedrich Thiele (Germany)

Open to international cellists aged 30 years and younger, the 1st prize winner will receive €7,000 – plus a number of important performance opportunities.

The 2019 jury will comprise: Maria Kliegel (Chair), Yi-Bing Chu, Danjulo Ishizaka, Zdzisław Łapiński, Csaba Onczay, and Marko Ylönen.
