The 7 Semi-Finalists have been announced for the 2019 Markneukirchen International Cello Competition
The 7 Semi-Finalists have today been announced for the 2019 Markneukirchen International Cello Competition – in Markneukirchen, Germany.
The 2019 Semi-Finalists are:
- Balázs Dolfin (Hungary)
- Jeremias Fliedl (Austria)
- YeongKwang Lee (South Korea)
- Anton Spronk (Netherlands)
- Daniel Thorell (Sweden)
- Beata Antikainen (Finland)
- Friedrich Thiele (Germany)
Open to international cellists aged 30 years and younger, the 1st prize winner will receive €7,000 – plus a number of important performance opportunities.
The 2019 jury will comprise: Maria Kliegel (Chair), Yi-Bing Chu, Danjulo Ishizaka, Zdzisław Łapiński, Csaba Onczay, and Marko Ylönen.
