19-year-old American cellist Sterling Elliott has been awarded 1st prize at the 2019 Mondavi Center Young Artists Competition

19-year-old American cellist Sterling Elliott has been awarded 1st prize at the 2019 Mondavi Center Young Artists Competition - in Davis, California, United States.

A student of Joel Krosnick at The Juilliard School, Sterling was in February of this year awarded 1st prize at the 2019 Sphinx Competition.

He will receive US $10,000.

2nd prize was awarded to 19-year-old American cellist James Hettinga.
