Sony Classical has this week announced the release of Korean cellist Hee-Young Lim's new album: 'Russian Cello Sonatas'.

Recorded with pianist Nathalia Milstein, the disc features Rachmaninoff's Cello Sonata in G Minor, Prokofiev's Cello Sonata in C Major, and Rachmaninoff's 'Vocalise'.

"I was profoundly influenced after hearing these works by the great Russian masters as a child ..." Hee-Young has this week told The Violin Channel.

"I hope listeners will hear through the music how much these pieces mean to me ... I play from the heart and deliberately chose these wonderful works as they speak to me across the ages," she has said.
