The Pacific Symphony, in Orange County, California, has today announced the appointment of violinist Dennis Kim as its new concertmaster - effective from September of this year.
A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and the Yale School of Music, Dennis has previously served as concertmaster of the Tucson Symphony, Hong Kong Philharmonic, Seoul Philharmonic and Tampere Philharmonic - and currently serves as concertmaster of the Buffalo Philharmonic.
"In Dennis Kim, I welcome a brilliant violinist, consummate musician and a dedicated musical partner … he is just the right artist to lead Pacific Symphony and its wonderful musicians toward all our musical aspirations,” Orchestra Music Director Carl St. Clair has said.
"I am excited and honored to take this important position with Pacific Symphony … when Carl and I first worked together, there was an instant spark and both of us knew there was a special chemistry in our music making,” Dennis has said.
