Czech-born violinist Břetislav Novotný has passed away - aged 95

Czech-born violinist Břetislav Novotný has passed away - aged 95.

A graduate of the Prague Conservatory, where he studied with Bedřich Voldan, Mr Novotný was a founding member and long time 1st violinist with the Prague String Quartet.

Throughout his career, he also served as Concertmaster of the Prague Symphony Orchestra - and as Artistic Advisor to the Prague and Suk Chamber Orchestras.
