Dynamic Records has this month announced the release of the Swiss-based Quartetto Energie Nove's New CD: Smetana: String Quartets Nos. 1 & 2.

Featuring violinists Hans Liviabella and Barbara Ciannamea, violist Ivan Vukčević and cellist Felix Vogelsang, the disc features 19th Century Czech composer Bedřich Smetana's first two string quartets.

"2018 is our jubilee tenth year and we are celebrating it by completing a trilogy of recordings dedicated to Slavic composers ... whose quartets we feel are underrated ..." the ensemble has told The Violin Channel.

"Our common goal is to animate music through creativity and new interpretations ... whilst always remaining utterly faithful to the score," they have said.
