Hungarian-born violinist János Négyesy has passed away – aged 75.
A student of Ferenc Gabriel and Tibor Varga, Mr Négyesy was a former Concertmaster of the Radio Berlin Orchestra - and served a long term teaching position at the University of California, San Diego.
A strong advocate of new music, he premiered a number of new works – including John Cage's 'Freeman Etudes'.
