THROWBACK THURSDAY | Vladimir Spivakov Performs Bach Violin Concerto No. 1

Watch the Russian violinist and conductor perform with the Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra.

Spivakov performs all three movements of Bach's Violin Concerto No. 1 in A minor with the Moscow Virtuosi, which he founded in 1979. He has served as the orchestra's conductor, soloist, and creative director ever since.

This year's applications for the Vladimir Spivakov International Violin Competition are closing on October 1, 2021. 

Created in honor of Vladimir Spivakov, the first prize winner will be awarded an Italian violin made by Giuseppe Pedrazzini (Milan, 1918).

Open to violinists between ages 15-26, the competition will take place in Ufa, the Republic of Bashkortostan, from November 22-26, 2021.
